A Multi-State Consortium Joins Together For A Common Solution
One WIC system shared by multiple states
The Federally-mandated Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program is administered separately by 90 different agencies covering each state, territory, and Native American tribe. The program administration and clinic workflows can vary greatly among each WIC Program based on local statute, policy, and procedure. The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) State Agency Model (SAM) solution creates a highly configurable system that allows WIC agencies to tailor the functionality based on their specific environment, policy, and procedure while achieving decreased total cost of ownership. The consortium's SAM system is one of the newest SAM systems with the latest technology, meets FNS requirements, provides Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) support, and offers the greatest flexibility.
