GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo. - Oct. 8, 2008 - Ciber was selected by Denver Public Schools (DPS) to provide strategic consulting services to assist DPS in the transformation of their human resources processes and information systems. DPS will leverage their investment in Lawson Software to provide more comprehensive and efficient human capital management processes for all employees of Denver Public Schools.
After moving the current DPS software to the latest technology platform from Lawson Software, called Lawson System Foundation, a collaborative, in-depth analysis of Human Resources business processes will take place. In addition to the technology design and configuration and the business process improvement support, Ciber will also provide project management, change management, and data migration execution.
This project will allow DPS to build upon the benefits of an improved Lawson system to better support reporting requirements, track employee certifications and improve integration with other strategic systems supporting teachers and administrators. In addition, Ciber will support DPS with additional significant business and technology initiatives that will be included in the current or upcoming phases of the upgrade project. These requirements include re-implementing Lawson Position Management, migrating users to a web portal interface, implementing new security for Lawson and assessing modifications to the Lawson system.
“We require a solution that will provide a solid foundation for our strategic Human Resources goals and enhance our ability to provide outstanding client service by making our systems and processes more efficient,” said Shayne Spalten, DPS Chief Human Resources Officer. “We want to leverage our technology upgrade to not only comply with the software requirements, but also to improve business processes and integrate disparate systems. We chose Ciber because they clearly demonstrated expertise in the complex components of this project.”
“We’re pleased to assist Denver Public Schools with this strategic initiative,” said Paul Robson, Vice President of Ciber’s Lawson Practice. “DPS recognizes that this project presents an opportunity to change business processes and implement additional functionality to more fully utilize the capabilities of the Lawson system and substantially increase the return on their information systems investment. This project is one of many that will support the District’s vision for becoming the premiere urban school district in the country, and Ciber is proud to support DPS in this effort.”
