American Association of Poison Control Centers
One Central repository from multiple data sources
The American Association of Poison Control Centers (AAPCC) supports the nation’s 55 regional poison centers where poison information is stored and analyzed. They also maintain the National Poison Data System (NPDS), which is the only poison information and surveillance database in the United States. Real-time, national poison information provided by NDPS is integral to the evaluation of the poison centers’ efforts. The AAPCC wanted a system that represented the entire nation and was able to expand and enhance as needs arose. Ciber worked closely with the AAPCC and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to create a managed services solution that includes application development, ongoing enhancement, support and reporting services.
