Electronic Content Management

CIBER'S Electronic Content Management (ECM) Solution Center offers a comprehensive array of services. Our ECM Lifecycle Framework includes application planning, design, development, testing, documentation, training and maintenance. The ECM Solution Center services customers such as the Revenue Collection, Legal Case Management, and Transportation industries. This group helped the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PENNDOT) to save significant time, money and resources by developing enterprise-wide applications to store electronic and paper documents, including engineering drawings, and organize them in such a way that they would be readily accessible by all PennDOT employees needing to retrieve the documents.

In today’s marketplace organizations are looking for technology to give them maximum return on investment in a relatively short amount of time. ECM technologies facilitate the achievement of business goals and realization of significant return on investment in a relatively short period of time. This return on investment is achieved by streamlining the data acquisition and business processes in the organization. The underlying technologies to build up this process automation are the document management and workflow tools.

Most of an organization’s data is still either on paper or in a database somewhere. Paper-based information can be captured and digitized, using document management technology, and can be made available to all users consistently and simultaneously to enable intelligent business decisions. Considerable savings can be realized by just implementing these document management technologies, but coupling the document management initiatives with process automation initiatives will result in larger gains in employee productivity and customer satisfaction. The return on investment is therefore increased when document management and process automation initiatives are effectively implemented together.

The ECM Team serves as a "Government Practice" for all ECM related engagements and supporting activities within CIBER. Located in CIBER's Harrisburg Branch, the ECM Practice leverages the strengths of its resources and strategic vendor partnerships to deliver solutions that fully satisfy our customer's content management requirements. The ECM Team partners with CIBER's traditional Custom Solutions Practices in implementing content management oriented solutions.

PennDOT

PennDOT receives, produces, processes and stores large quantities of data and document(s) in many forms and at many physical locations. These include driver and vehicle license applications, manuals, specifications, correspondence, technical reference, transportation infrastructure files, design drawings, contracts, reports, and payroll and fiscal information to name a few.

Using IBM's Electronic Content Management product, the capabilities being implemented by CIBER were integrated into this environment, streamlining the processes associated with the storage and retrieval of unstructured data and with the electronic data capture of information contained on their various forms and applications.

The benefits to PennDOT include enhanced customer service, work processing control and document access and control.
