Agile Coaching Services
CIBER has expanded its service offerings into the new and growing world of Agile Software Development through our new Agile Practice. We provide training for Scrum and agile engineering practices as well as coaching for project teams and enterprise level agile adoption. Our staff includes experienced trainers and coaches including two Certified Scrum Coaches, a new designation created by the Scrum Alliance, the leading professional organization in agile project management.
Our agile services include project training, staffing and consulting support similar to CIBER offerings in other IT specialty areas. The Agile Practice provides an additional Agile Coaching service that uses a continuous engagement model characterized by on-going, high-touch partnerships customized for each client. The agile principles of collaboration, feedback, visibility and completion are applied to our coaching relationships to ensure the agile goal of achieving the best result for the client in the most efficient manner. We define specific success criteria for the client and the coach, continuously monitoring progress towards those goals and adapting as circumstances change and new knowledge is gained.
The goal of a coach is to make someone else better without taking any credit. The CIBER Agile Practice seeks to make each client better in their agile implementation, continuing the relationship until the stated goals are met. After the initial engagement, follow-on support is done by the most efficient means available including email and phone support, local CIBER liaisons trained inagile methodology and on-site coaching visits as needed. Agile Coaching
So what, exactly, are agile coaching services? The software industry is still learning about the best ways to transition to agility. Agile practitioners have identified a number of successful tools and strategies. We know that each company is unique and the application of agile practices must be tailored accordingly. Our coaching services cover a wide range of activities to help our clients find their own best answers to challenges that may arise.
Team Assessment
Agile teams are self-managing, high-performance units that build software using practices that differ from tradition. We can help assess the skills needed for a particular project when forming a team, evaluate the agile potential of an existing non-agile team and help tune the performance of an established agile team. We can provide recommendations as well as coaching teams to find their own opportunities for improvement. We can also provide training in specific practices that enhance agile development such as Scrum, Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration.

Agile development is simple, but it is not easy. A new team will have a better chance for early success if it is trained and coached by experienced mentors. The CIBER Agile Practice can provide training customized for the needs of an agile team, small or large.
