CHICAGO - Aug. 19, 2004 - CIBER, Inc. (NYSE: CBR) today announced it has won a contract with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) to help implement an Automated Individualized Education Program (IEP) solution for the Office of Specialized Service (OSS). The new solution will streamline the administration of special education services and assist teachers and paraprofessionals in meeting the quality and professional development standards mandated by the
No Child Left Behind legislation.
As part of the project, CIBER will implement Learning Tools International’s (LTI) GoalView™, the revolutionary multi-lingual web-based information system developed to improve staff performance and student achievement, simplify staff and student accountability and enable secure, round-the-clock accessibility to information. CIBER and LTI have worked together on multiple other school district implementations in Alaska, Georgia and Utah.
“The new Automated IEP solution will simplify collaboration among teachers, parents and staff, enhancing student performance outcomes and improving government compliance reporting,” said Robert Runcie, Chief Information Officer for CPS.
The implementation of the automated IEP solution will include an overhaul of OSS procedures that will address every facet of IEPs, including the special education student referral process and progress measurement. The IEP will directly impact more than 58,000 students classified as special education or special needs, as well as approximately 7,000 faculty members, case managers, clinicians and support staff.
“Given our numerous projects across the State of Illinois, it is rewarding to be selected to oversee this important initiative for the Chicago Public Schools,” said Tim Boehm, CIBER’s Regional Vice President. “Our team is committed to complete customer satisfaction and has the knowledge, experience, processes and certifications to deliver a cost effective solution that meets CPS’ current and future needs.”
