Once completed, Port Freeport’s project team reviewed the RFPs and decided the creative solution offered by CIBER’s Enterprise Security Solutions (ESS) was the best value for the port. With the system provided by CIBER, we achieved our goal of improving waterside security and Maritime Domain Awareness.”

“CDC Alerting Service provides an enterprise alerting service infrastructure that CDC Centers, Institutes, and Offices (CIOs) can securely integrate with their disparate technologies. CDCAS provides a truly reusable component framework that allows CDC to easily expand communication capabilities with little or no impact to the CIOs while reducing the cost of ownership for CDC and our Public Health Information Network (PHIN) partners. The CIBER team has expertly created CDCAS to meet both current and future needs with a highly flexible architecture and component model.”

Training Services
To keep your workforce at the top of its form, you need to keep people trained and motivated—especially if jobs are changing in response to agency evolution or a more immediate change in focus or direction. Or maybe your workforce is retiring, not taking with it valued institutional knowledge. How do you preserve that knowledge so younger workers can benefit from the wisdom and experience of those who have gone before?
A Life-Cycle Approach to Training
CIBER, Inc. can help. Our life-cycle approach to training is designed to help you understand the training experiences your staff needs to achieve your objectives. We have a full set of skills to turn your training plans into reality. We begin by planning, whether by helping you build an entire curriculum or designing just one class. Our planning approach builds consensus and clarity, ensuring that all stakeholders understand objectives, cost trade-offs and timetables.
Training Alternatives
Our analysis phase doesn’t just translate skill-set needs into courses. We specialize in performance improvement, proactively seeking the best alternatives to meet your performance objectives. It may be that the best solution isn’t training, but a job aid, job restructuring, improved documentation, or an electronic performance support system to provide just-in-time information, advice, and learning experiences.
Innovative Designs
Classroom instruction may not always be the answer. We have an arsenal of media-based, award-winning delivery approaches, including instructor-led, Web-based, video-based and computer-based training. We mix and match components to arrive at a client-focused training design. We use process-driven methodologies to select the right blend of technologies to meet your learning objectives.
Development and Implementation
CIBER builds courseware, develops user and training guides and uses pilot programs to refine and hone materials. We have an in-house video and 3-D graphics team, applying technology to make learning not only effective, but interesting and exciting, and with just the right amount of fidelity. We use online polling devices to obtain student input and feedback in real time—letting instructors and students know how others are responding to the learning situation.
At CIBER, we don’t just build a curriculum: we create the infrastructure necessary for delivery. This includes everything from classroom build-out to the creation of a complete online learning environment. For a number of clients, we maintain these learning environments while providing all administrative and course management services necessary to equip classrooms, produce training materials, maintain archives, track intellectual property rights, register students, and track progress.
Evaluation
We design, develop and implement quizzes, comprehension checks, online polling and formal multi-level course evaluations—all designed to identify when, where and how learning has taken place. We make full use of Web-based survey instruments to make it easy to collect information and report to stakeholders.
Standards-Driven Design, Development and Delivery
CIBER has experience in applying ISD principles in accordance with all military and civilian training standards. We make it a point to stay ahead of emerging requirements and dynamic industry standards, such as SCORM conformance and Section 508 compliance.
Deliverables
For every training and media approach used, different deliverables are required. Because of our up-front planning process, our deliverables are defined from the outset. As a client, you will know exactly what to expect. Among the outputs of our training approach are:
- Front-end analyses
- Design and knowledge management strategies
- Computer-based and laminated job aids
- Scripts, flow mapping and storyboards
- Instructor guides
- Student/participant manuals
- Student workbooks
- Visuals and instructional games
- Computer/Web-based training
- Videotapes
- Self-paced instruction
