Session Abstract:
This presentation compares and contrasts different SAP mobile data collection technologies for warehouse management. It will provide the warehouse operation and IT management with the necessary information to make a logical decision on a suitable technology for their mobile data collection solution. Picking a wrong architecture could cost the company money, lost productivity, and an unreliable solution. SAP in the last decade has developed several mobile technologies such as SAPConsole, Web SAPConsole, Mobile Web Dynpro, ITS Mobile, SAP Mobile Infrastructure for mobile data collection. Each technology has its own strengths and weaknesses and it is a source of major confusion for decision makers. This presentation will focus on comparing different architectures, standard out-of-the-box support, development effort required for customization, and provide recommendations for suitable technologies for different environment and business scenarios. This paper will also discuss SAP mobile RFID technologies and how mobile RFID can be incorporated as part of your warehouse operations.
