Hornsby
Sams, Jr. earned a BS in Electrical Engineering and began his career
as a Co-op Engineer with Eastman Kodak in the Research Labs. Upon graduation,
he became an Engineer with the Business Systems Machine Division as a Technical
Instructor and last line Service Support Engineer. He has over 14 years
of experience in Software Systems Analysis and Design (while with Teledyne
Brown Engineering and Logicon, Inc.). While with Logicon and CACI, Hornsby
served in the capacity of various management positions (i.e. Project, Program,
Technical Contract) QA, (Test Plan Development with associated Testing)
and office/site for approximately 10 years. These activities also encompassed
independent verification and validation (which included customer and software
requirements verification and tracing). He became CMM(I) certified while
serving as the CACI Lead Technical Software Developer.
Hornsby has provided Six Sigma/Statistical Process Control
technical advisory service for organizations such as MediaOne & AT&T
Broadband (now called COMCAST), the Weather Channel, US Air Force, Cox Communications,
Inc., Blue Cross Blue Shield of Phoenix AZ, and both the Atlanta Public
and Charlotte-Mecklenburg (NC) School Systems.
