Lawson Knowledge Transfer Program

The CIBER Knowledge Transfer Program is an integral part of CIBER’s methodology and a significant component in ensuring the ultimate success of all projects.

The design and delivery of this program is predicated on these researched and verified tenets regarding information systems knowledge requirements:

  • Planning for Project Team and End-user training at the initial planning stages of a project is one of the validated Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of success in an implementation.
  • Materials used for initial education for the Project Team should be generic in nature, not company-specific. This allows the participants to focus on the learning process without prejudice about what is currently done, or what they would like to see in the future system. After initial knowledge has been gain, it is then applied to a company’s specific needs and environment in a consulting model.
  • End-user training is one of the greatest risk factors in adhering to a project timeline because of the training resource load, the overall time required, and constraints such as physical space and a company’s on-going operational requirements during planned training times.
  • End-user training materials must follow sound educational development principles in order to be effective and re-usable for new hires and changes in responsibilities.
  • Train the Trainer Workshops for companies using internal trainers, exponentially increase the effectiveness of the trainers and subsequent knowledge transfer.
  • People have different learning styles, and training programs must be designed to ensure that each participant has the greatest opportunity to learn efficiently and comprehensively
  • The ultimate success of a project is determined by the end-users' willingness and ability to use the new system.

Steps in Design and Delivery of the Knowledge Transfer Program

The CIBER Knowledge Transfer Program for each client contains the elements required by, and unique to, each client’s needs.

  1. Select client and CIBER training team corps, including agreement on specific roles and responsibilities.
  2. Determine super-user trainers, if applicable to the organization.
  3. Develop initial, macro-level End User Training Matrix with the client.
  4. Create the overall knowledge transfer plan.
  5. Provide education and training reinforcement for Project Team members. This may be
Application Change Workshops for upgrade clients, or full application training for implementations of new modules.
  6. Develop client end-user training materials, using CIBER courseware templates.
  7. Finalize the End User Training Matrix with the client.
  8. Conduct Train the Trainer Workshop(s) for client internal training corps.
  9. Provide end-user training with knowledge transfer validation.

Recognized experts in the field of information systems education and training deliver the CIBER Knowledge Transfer program, including our Train the Trainer Workshop.
